Veteran police detective Roger Murtaugh is only days away from retiring when he and his brutal partner, Martin Riggs, are roped into a critical internal affairs case. Working with the beautiful, no-nonsense Sergeant Lorna Cole and aided by the shifty informant Leo Getz, Murtaugh and Riggs begin to close in on the operation of a black-market weapon involving corrupt cop and arms dealer Jack Travis.
