What you need

Equipment needed to play Flip Cup:

• A long table or surface to play on
• Plastic cups (preferably red solo cups)
• Beverages of your choice

• Optional: A whistle or other noise maker to signal the start and end of each round.

How to play

The game is played with teams of 2-6 players, with each team standing on opposite sides of a long table. The objective of the game is to be the first team to finish drinking and flipping all of the cups on your side of the table.

To begin, each team member fills their cup with a set amount of beer or another beverage of your choice. Once all cups are filled, the first player on each team starts drinking and when they finish, they place the cup on the edge of the table, and using only one hand, must flip the cup so that it lands upside down on the table. Once the cup is flipped, the next player on their team can start drinking. This continues, with each player drinking and flipping their cup, until all the cups on one team’s side of the table have been flipped.

If a cup is not flipped successfully, the player must try again, and if it is not flipped correctly on the second try, the player must take another drink. A team wins when all of the cups on their side of the table have been flipped successfully.

For added fun, teams can also choose to play with different rules like:

• “no hands” rule where players must flip the cups using only their fingers
• “elimination” rule where teams must eliminate one member after each round
