Quarters Drinking Game
Quarters is a drinking game combining the skill of aiming and luck of physics. The goal of quarters involves players taking turns attempting to bounce a quarter (or any other small coin) on a tabletop in an attempt to land the quarter in a cup or into a shot glass.
- A glass
- Two or more players
Players should all have their own coin and must take turns attempting to bounce it into the cup this continues until someone is successful in sinking the quarter. The successful Player then nominates someone to drink 2 fingers of their own beverage and then gets to go again. As you get a feel for it, the game will become easier, and players will start to score a few in a row, if someone sinks the quarter three times in a row they can make a rule that has to be followed for the rest of the game e.g. no one is allowed to point or say “quarter”.
If the game is getting too easy, try using a smaller glass like a shot glass or moving further away. Other variations for difficulty include bouncing, spinning, flicking, and other trick shots, if made these can be assigned a greater forfeit.
When playing quarters, some players rely purely on luck. Others (Including us) believe there is a practice method of consistently allying pressure and angling the toss that enables greater control. As players develop many find the best way to hold their quarter for their comfort level and muscle memory. Still others prefer to enjoy the fun of the game without tactical approach and are content to freely toss and let chance take over.
Please remember to drink responsibly! This post isn’t meant to make you sick due to the over-consumption of alcohol. PartyPingo does not encourage irresponsible drinking of any kind. Stay safe, everyone!
