The John Collins is a part of Collins (drinks) family. It is believed to have been first invented by a headwaiter, named John Collins, who worked at Limmer’s Old House. Limmer’s Old House was a popular hotel and coffee house in Londen.

My name is John Collins, head waiter at Limmer’s,
Corner of Conduit Street, Hanover Square,
My chief occupation is filling brimmers
For all the young gentlemen frequenters there.

You need

  • 4 cl. Bourbon Whiskey
  • The juice of one lemon
  • 1 teaspoon simple syrup
  • Club Soda
  • 1 slice of orange, for garnish
  • Ice

How to make it

  1. Fill the glass with ice.
  2. Pour in the bourbon, lemon juice, and syrup.
  3. Stir the glass, and top up with soda.
  4. Garnish with an orange slice.

Tequila Sunrise was invented in 70’s by Bobby Lazoff and Billy Rice while working as young bartenders at The Trident in Sausalito, California. Rolling Stones had a private party at The Trident, and this is where Mick Jagger developed a taste for it.

You need

  • 4 cl. Tequila
  • 15 cl. Freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 2 cl. Grenadine
  • 1 slice of orange for garnish
  • Ice

How to make it

  1. Fill the glass half with ice
  2. Pour Tequila and orange juice in, and stir
  3. Gently pour the Grenadine along the egde of the glass.
  4. Ready to serve!
