Popular Drinking Games at Festivals

You will undoubtedly consume alcohol at a festival, and often it would be playing some drinking game. As the alcohol in your blood increases, so does the creativity, and when the imagination runs free, fun drinking games occur in the camping areas. This article focuses on some of the most popular drinking games at festivals.

Beer Bowling

Roskilde Festival(a danish festival) in particular is known for beer bowling, which for years has been one of the most popular games at the well-known festival. During the day, getting in gear with a hangover and a backing sun can be challenging, but as soon as the first-hand beers have arrived inside, everything is the same. Beer bowling is the perfect game to get in the mood, and a frame quickly fades away when the neighboring camp is challenged. The rules are straightforward, and typically five people are playing, with two players on each team and one referee. If you are a real rule rider, then the judge must give permission for each throw, and not least to take a pee break – and many of them. If the sport is unsportsmanlike, the referee can also give a reprimand to the troublemaker.

What you need for beer bowling:

  • Two teams of two players
  • A judge
  • A lot of beer
  • +5 festival chairs (also one for the judge and some of the audience)
  • Suitable clothes

And then you are otherwise the guarantor of hours of entertainment!

Beer Pong

Beer pong is another classic we have taken to heart from American youth culture. It is a little harder to perform at a festival, as it requires a stable surface and not least cups, which few have brought. In addition, the cups can get clammy during the day when they are reused – so be sure to bring plenty of disposable cups. Here the rules are simple, as it is about getting a ball in the opponent’s cup. Beer pong is perhaps the most challenging game of the three, as it requires technical ingenuity and a good ball eye. It is, therefore, a fun drinking game if you have a little competition gene.

Keta Bowling

Keta bowling is one of the slightly newer festival games where there can be more participants. It’s a great way to get the whole camp in the mood before the night’s hardships. The game has many different names but is best known as Keta Bowling, which is a game where you are divided into two teams facing each other with just a single can or bottle in the middle. Here, the teams must alternately try to roll the ball in and knock over the object. Once this is done, the entire team must bottom their beer before the opposing team can raise the object again. Therefore, many quantities of beer are quickly consumed, as it is one beer per game, which is why it’s perfect as a drinking game for a larger group.
